It is as though food budgets are thrown out of the window! The RCH catering team is able to buy fresh, high quality, often locally sourced produce without the budgetary restrictions experienced by most care homes. It does not have to cut costs by supplying lesser quality food and services and the cost of each guest’s stay is subsidised by up to 50%! How? Because RCH is a charity and not run to make a profit. That means you get delicious meals packed with vitamins and minerals prepared to a very high standard that would not be out of place in a superior city hotel.

We all know eating well is vital for our health and wellbeing yet after an operation or illness very often the last thing you feel like doing is eating. And that is where our talented and enthusiastic Chefs excel. The Chefs spend time planning and developing menus to produce the most tempting of dishes which look good, taste even better and are nutritionally optimised.
Choices galore
If you are a meat lover, vegetarian or vegan, whether you prefer savoury or sweet, or whether you prefer a snack or a three-course meal, there is plenty of choice to tickle the most particular of taste buds. The menus are changed to match the seasons with the emphasis being on seasonal produce. Our Chefs are happy to cater for special diets as well as special requests – from tempting treats to birthday surprises.

As you would expect, the kitchens at RCH have the maximum 5* environmental health rating but it is the freshly prepared meals and the use of locally sourced produce that makes the meals at RCH so appetising and healthy.
Meals and refreshments are included in the cost
Included in the cost of a stay at RCH is a nourishing breakfast, a wholesome three course lunch and a lighter supper to round off the evening. A tasty selection of homemade snacks and refreshments including seasonal fruit and a variety of drinks are available throughout the day.
