If you feel like relaxing with a book or sitting quietly enjoying the stunning views, that is fine by us. If you would like to take part in every activity going, that is also fine by us! Gently encouraged by the staff, the activities on offer are designed to stimulate mind and body at a pace to suit you as an individual. We often find that as guests recover, they are inclined to do more. There is a stimulating choice, an opportunity to stay active, make friends and be entertained. But above all, the aim is for everyone to have fun, be themselves and get better.
Please be aware that there are times when we have to limit the amount or type of activity on offer as we react to the changing Covid situation. Our priority is always the wellbeing of all our guests so we offer as many interesting and wide-ranging activities as possible which you are welcome to join in with.
Get to know your fellow guests
The camaraderie and companionship at RCH is second to none. There are always fellow guests around to chat to or share experiences with – and of course the kind and patient staff are always on hand for help and reassurance. There’s the opportunity to play cards and board games or take part in quizzes and competitions which are held regularly. Bingo night is always a favourite – and when talented local musicians are invited to perform at RCH, there is always much discussion afterwards!
Learn, exercise or explore
Flower arranging lessons are available and are sure to impress your family and friends when you get back home. Therapeutic exercise takes place throughout the week and the specialist physiotherapy treatment is available every weekday morning. For the more adventurous, weekly trips to the local towns of Rustington, Worthing and the local garden centres are a great way to improve your confidence before heading home.
Look and feel your best
Hairdressing and beauty treatments are available because we all need a pamper every now and again! A chiropodist is available on request and our friendly, experienced physiotherapists are on hand every weekday.
